A Few Thoughts On…Stopping to Smell the Rose`

Champagne
I wrote this post a couple of weeks ago and am just now getting around to sharing it…’topsy turvy’ is life these days, indeed!
                                                                                                   ——————-
Life has been topsy turvy the last few years. The first big change was when I started a new career as a designer with California Closets (and loved it.) I was really getting my feet under me more solidly as I neared my one-year anniversary. Then – surprise!
My wonderful hubby got a job offer we couldn’t refuse and off we went to North Carolina, after 40+ years in California. We’ve been in our house all of three weeks now so are starting to get settled in (with a little bit of a break to allow Hurricane Florence to pass by – thankfully no damage in our immediate area.)
I already love it – we’re in a cute neighborhood (sort of like Mayberry) – the people are SO nice – and, well, I just love southern cooking (shrimp and grits, to name just one fav!)
While I knew I would miss my friends, and while I haven’t really met many people in North Carolina in person yet, I feel connected because of social media. It’s been heart warming to reach out to someone you’ve ‘liked’ on some platform to ask for help or advice, and to have them respond so warmly.
I’m awaiting the discovery of my ultimate ‘purpose’ in this new life but in the meantime, I remind myself to ‘move at the pace of guidance’ and take things one step at a time, as they present themselves. Which means that, for this weekend, we flew back to San Francisco to celebrate my husband’s birthday with an Eagles concert at AT&T Park and then a few days in Napa/Sonoma.

The ‘settling in’ will continue in good time, while along the way we stop to smell the roses (or is that Rose`? Lol)
Thanks for reading – carpe diem!
